Wall-hung WCs are rapidly becoming the specification of choice across residential, hospitality and commercial projects - and with good reason. As spatial constraints tighten and design expectations rise, specifiers are turning to wall-hung solutions that deliver both form and function. The appeal is clear: a sleek, minimalist aesthetic, paired with space-saving practicality and straightforward maintenance.
Geberit has long been at the forefront of this movement. Now, with the launch of its new Alpha range and an upgraded Duofix frame system, the brand is setting a new benchmark for accessible, reliable and design-conscious concealed WC installations.
Wall-hung WCs: Form, function and flexibility
The benefits of wall-hung toilets extend far beyond aesthetics. By concealing the cistern within the wall, designers can free up valuable floor space, particularly helpful in smaller or highly designed environments. The absence of a pedestal also makes cleaning faster and more efficient, which is a key consideration in commercial spaces or hotels where hygiene and turnaround are paramount.
Crucially, when paired with a robust frame system, wall-hung WCs offer structural integrity. In fact, Geberit’s frames are engineered to support up to 400kg, providing confidence for use in both residential and high-traffic commercial settings. For architects and contractors, the appeal lies in this combination of design flexibility, hygiene benefits and long-term performance.
Geberit Duofix Alpha: Entry-level excellence
Geberit has expanded its trusted Duofix range with the introduction of Geberit Duofix Alpha - an accessible, high-quality cistern developed specifically for the UK market. Alpha is designed to offer Geberit’s trusted performance and reliability at a more affordable price point, making it accessible to a wider range of projects, from private residential to commercial.
Available in three installation heights - 82cm, 98cm and 112cm - Alpha provides the versatility needed for projects of all scales, including installations with restricted ceiling height or limited wall depth. This makes it a strong contender for both refurbishments and new builds, where flexibility and cost-effectiveness are crucial.
A key feature of the Alpha range is its expanded selection of flush plate finishes. Options include on-trend choices such as matt black, gloss chrome, black chrome, red gold and brass - enabling the system to meet aesthetic requirements across a wide range of bathroom styles. Flush plates are available in both square and round button styles.
The next generation of Duofix
Geberit has also re-engineered its Duofix frame - creating its most installer-friendly version to date. This next-generation frame builds on the strength and reliability of the original while incorporating practical upgrades to streamline the installation process and adapt to a broader range of site conditions.
The new Duofix introduces several key enhancements. A pull-out side fastening plate enables easier vertical stud mounting, while revised anchor positions help installers work around obstructions hidden behind the wall. Extendible leg supports and a redesigned foot plate simplify mounting, even when fixing screws are already in place, helping to reduce installation time and improve on-site efficiency.
Other features include click-in foot plates, clearly marked adjustments, adjustable pipe brackets and reusable foot extensions, all of which have been designed to speed up installation and improve long-term reliability.
