Striking Pyramid given a new lease of life by Structura

At 2.8metres high and 9m x 12m square, this rooflight project is one of the largest pyramids Structura have worked on. Situated in Milton Keynes, Burystead Court has offices centred around a large canteen atrium where the double glazed units had failed.

The scope of works included removing the old units, renewing the frame, replacing the gaskets and craning in new Guardian Glass SunGuard SN 70/35. As the building was occupied throughout internal birdcage scaffolding was used as protection and external access scaffolding was used to minimise the disruption to users below.

This project is a perfect example of how Structura’s various divisions can come together to provide a one-stop shop for complete renewal of everything from entrances and facades through to curtain walling and rooflights. The ability to design, fabricate and install source replacement glazing along with cladding refurbishment and refinishing creates a seamless project management workflow resulting in reduced costs and time on-site along with negating the need to specify several different contractors with the associated problems that entails.
