Preserving Heritage, Enhancing Hospitality at The Bell on Mulnestrete with Gerflor and Gradus

A carefully selected combination of Gerflor flooring and Gradus interior solutions has helped transform The Bell on Mulnestrete in Congleton, bringing together heritage character, contemporary design and practical performance.

The historic building, which has previously served as a coach house, mortuary and public house, has undergone an extensive refurbishment to create a modern food, drink and live music venue, with future plans for boutique hotel accommodation.

A range of Gerflor products was specified throughout the venue, including Creation 55 Dry Back LVT in Versailles Honey, Creation 70 MegaClic in Oxyd Pure and Tarasafe Ultra safety flooring. These were complemented by Gradus Boulevard entrance matting, GR91 stair edging and BLXT20R Satin Bronze LED step lighting.

The combination of finishes works alongside the building’s exposed brickwork, timber beams, Victorian green tiles and brass detailing, while providing the durability, safety and ease of maintenance required within a busy hospitality environment.

Commenting on the project, Nick Ferguson from Gerflor and Gradus said: “The selected Gerflor and Gradus solutions work together to support the overall interior concept whilst also delivering the durability, safety and maintenance benefits required within a busy food and drink environment.”

Completed in May 2026, the project demonstrates how carefully considered flooring and interior accessories can help balance the character of a historic building with the practical requirements of a modern hospitality venue.
