At the heart of the system is the redesigned Marmox Multiboard Showerlay. Manufactured from waterproof Marmox Multiboard, the Showerlay provides a strong, stable base for tiled wetroom floors while forming an important part of the overall waterproofing system.

The latest version includes a 100mm fleece overhang around the panel edges. This allows installers to form tanked joints between the floor and surrounding walls more efficiently, helping create a continuous waterproof connection between surfaces.

Flexibility is also important when working across different housing layouts. Each Showerlay can be trimmed by up to 100mm on every side, making it easier to accommodate different room dimensions, refurbishment projects and less-standard layouts without needing to source a bespoke shower tray.

The Showerlay range offers a choice of drainage configurations, including centre and offset point drains and linear drains with offset outlets. This gives specifiers greater flexibility when planning drainage and positioning pipework, particularly where existing services need to be considered during refurbishment.

The wider Marmox Multiboard system can be used alongside the Showerlay to provide waterproof, thermally insulating wall construction throughout the wetroom. The lightweight boards are easy to handle and can be cut and shaped on site around pipework, corners and other detailing. They can be tiled, plastered or rendered, providing flexibility across different specifications and finishes.

For housing projects, the combination of waterproofing and thermal insulation can offer additional practical benefits. Multiboard helps reduce heat loss through bathroom walls and can help minimise the risk of condensation, while its compatibility with underfloor heating systems can contribute to improved thermal comfort.

Built-in storage can also be incorporated using Marmox Niche solutions. Available in many sizes, including 1200 x 400mm and 600 x 300mm, the recessed Niches provide practical storage within shower areas without requiring additional furniture or compromising the clean appearance of the room.
