Langley roof refurbishment gives residents peace of mind

Langley was commissioned to assist with the asset management programme for this Bristol social housing block on behalf of an estate management company. Langley undertook a full roof survey and produced a free comprehensive condition report. As with all Langley projects, the report described the existing roof build-up including detailed information on thermal performance, roof defects and design details which would require consideration.

After testing confirmed that the existing roof was suitable for overlaying, Langley recommended a TA-20 warm roof system with insulation to improve the thermal efficiency ensuring that the roof, including new rooflights, achieved Part L compliance. The condition survey was supported by a bespoke specification which included U-Value calculations. The specification also included detailed drawings for the challenging upstand detail on the lift motor room and the creation of a new integral gutter channel to ensure rainwater flows towards the outlets.
