Gilberts helps create ideal retail environment for BMW MINI

One of the largest car retailers in the UK has chosen Gilberts to help create the stylish modern environment synonymous with the BMW MINI marques.

Halliwell Jones, now one of the leading dealerships in the North West, is consolidating its Wilmslow, Greater Manchester operation with the opening of a new site at Handforth. It will bring together its three separate operations of car showroom, workshop and repair centre under one roof.

Helping to create the modern retail environment demanded by the BMW and MINI brand standards are Gilberts’ new JSL-T linear slot diffusers, finished in onyx black, installed by Integrated Mechanical. The ultra high-capacity air emitter slotted into the side walls at high level cleverly adjusts airflow within seconds to maintain the determined temperature throughout the new development. It all happens without any auxilliary power/electrical input, This helped towards the eco credentials of the overall project which included timber cladding, retention of existing greenery around the site, sinking the building into the terrain to minimise its visual impact and addition of a nature trail behind.

“Minimising the environmental impact of the development was a planning priority,” explains Joel Poskitt, Integrated Mechanical Project Engineer. ”That Gilberts’ JSL-T would maintain the correct temperature in a large, predominantly open space without using any additional energy was a real bonus that sat beautifully alongside the design strategy.”

All Gilberts’ products, standard lines and bespoke solutions, are designed and developed in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2015 quality standard in the company’s state of the art 140,000 ft² facility in Blackpool.
