An all-in-one approach from Gerflor with their new Creation Collection for 2022

Gerflor further increases its product category with the launch of their brand-new 2022 Creation LVT Collection, providing a tantalising all-in-one approach for designers and architects. Simply put, it’s a game changer!

Award-winning International flooring specialist Gerflor is a pioneer in vinyl flooring tiles and planks. In 1985, they launched the first self-adhesive tile, and was the first manufacturer to take advantage of market demand for decorative flooring solutions, which are easier to manage and install. Since then, the brand has continued to innovate and further expand this product category. The new 2022 Creation Collection from Gerflor provides a unique all in one approach which is conceived using a cross-sectional method offering designers an à la carte choice of design and fitting depending on either renovation or new projects. The new 2022 Creation Collection also considers the levels of light or moderate footfall that might have to be considered.

With the launch of this new 2022 Creation LVT Collection Gerflor now offers a range of solutions that are easy to live and work with, together with providing a stunning floor that is both durable and simply beautiful to look at. With 35 years’ experience in decorative tiles and planks, Gerflor continues to innovate!

Aimed at architects, specifiers, decision-makers, and professionals, the new 2022 Creation LVT Collection provides a complete flooring solution targeted at four levels of traffic intensity. Creation 30 (Class 31) Creation 40 (Class 32) Creation 55 (Class 33) and Creation 70 (Class 34).

With its new core design and revised instructions for fitting (solid clic, rigid acoustic, connect, dry back and looselay), the new Creation 2022 LVT Collection now offers 100 exclusive designs and combinations possible, and there are 30 of which are new and exclusive to Gerflor these common designs are available in all the ranges together with a choice of coordinated finishes for skirting and thresholds and brand new surface treatment. The collection also delivers four ranges for different traffic levels and five fitting systems.

One spectacular innovation for the 2022 Creation Collection is a new RIGID clip system that has better performance characteristics and is available as two options: Creation Solid Clic and Creation Rigid Acoustic (with built-in underlay) for improved everyday comfort.

Spearheaded by their Creative Director, Gino Venturelli and an in-house design and research team, Gerflor took a long hard look at the market to develop five outstanding themes which would both excite and inspire designers and architects.

The new designs are a real reflection of a modern way of living, together with mirroring key contemporary trends that are prominent in everyday living.

1/ Timeless- Classics that go beyond mere fashion crazes (marble or wood effects in variations of shades ranging from white to honey via cedar) that are unashamedly trendy and the best sellers. Available as both tiles and planks. An example of this is Curton Stone. A sterile, impersonal urban area and limits on travel imposed by the pandemic have given major food for thought. Among the results, attempts to bring nature into our living spaces. Bring life “in captivity” nearer to this harmony of colours and materials that you find in nature. This change of perspective means we see landscapes and terrains that were too obvious until yesterday with new eyes. Curton Stone represents a slice of this context, a window on the brutalism of natural stone and mountain rocks in their purest interpretation.

2/ Natural- Wood dominates these designs which are inspired by the raw appearance of natural components. Nature takes pride of place in these designs to deliver shades of colour and material that reflect mother nature in her rawest form. An example of this is Braukerne. To give new life to wood, Gerflor worked on their raw material using an innovative new technique. Using lasers, a thin surface layer was removed to reveal all the typical values and details of larch wood that are often hidden by surface finishes. The result is surprising in the richness of detail and the harmony of medium and pale shades. Once the strips have been laid, the overall effect harmonises the delicate undulations present with the knots in the wood that are darker and have an almost toasted appearance.

3/ Ultrarealism- Designs that play on our senses. Exclusive graining which is EIR / Emboss registered® follows the veining and knots of the wood, giving a unique sensation that links the senses of touch and appearance. An example of this is the three hyper-realistic designs (White Lead Oak, Charming Oak & Lounge Oak) where there is perfect coherence between the visual and tactile aspects of the product. In addition to the colour difference there is a substantial stylistic difference between the three woods that make up the offer. White Lead Oak is one of the designs where the waxy appearance of the undulations most starkly highlights the synchronisation. This is the most rustic wood that has the greatest colour variation, the wood that interprets the original material, oak, in its most raw, vintage form.

4/ Fusion - A hybrid concept between the worlds of minerals and plants with a surprising result that is both singular and modern. An elegant neo-classical finish that gives the finest effect. An example of this is Palissandro design, a type of precious marble that is found in Italy. The natural stone is characterised by a uniform, neutral beige background that is criss-crossed by grey and brown stripes and shading. In the past Palisander was used to build cathedrals and famous monuments. Famous for its modern design, Palisander blends perfectly into a wide range of projects for both indoor and outdoor surface coverings. The second material chosen is the variety of wood known as Palisander, but which is best known as Rosewood for its perfume and intensity of colour. In the wood version, Palisander is a precious material used to build musical instruments and cabinetmaking. The blend of these two fine materials produces a new surface that is both unique and original with a strong personality and sublime elegance.
