A new way to specify Posi-Joist

Posi-Joists have significantly grown in popularity over recent years. To further promote Posi-Joist in the market place and to make it even easier to specify, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new online Posi-Joist interactive span table. You can find it here.

The new web page makes it easier for interested parties such as architects, engineers or self builders to quickly find out the size of joist that will work for standard domestic situations.

The user simply has to enter the required span to see a range of results that will work.

They are then given an indication of the depths and centres that are available and also an indicative deflection:

For non-standard solutions we include a link to a new email address, which automatically adds their query into our CRM system. A member of the MiTek design team will then respond to the email with an appropriate indicative joist design and an AutoCAD BIM model within 1 working day. There is also a link to our 'find a manufacturer' page to direct traffic to our fabricators.

EC5 Update

Since the beginning of 2018, EC5 has been the code to which all new truss and metal web floor designs should be designed. July saw the deadline for legacy BS5268 designs to be converted to EC5 and Les Fuller, chairman of the TRA technical committee recently issued a statement to clarify the position. You can read the full statement on the TRA website here.

The MiTek PAMIR software was specifically written for EC5 and as such is a stable and proven platform to produce accurate designs.

Over the last few years our training team has been a busy place as our customer base have learnt the PAMIR software, and we continue to offer a range of software and EC5 training courses. Details of these courses can be downloaded from our website here.
